So what’s this story about exactly?
It’s quite layered. On the one hand you have the looming zombie apocalypse brought about by religious fanatics in a fantasy setting. On the other hand you have a coming of age story for an LGBTQ youth. These two stories merge together when the main character, Gottlieb, befriends a “special needs” character named Ivar. The two must work together to overcome many obstacles and survive in this new world where the dead are rising from their graves and the living are totally unprepared to stop them.
In the first issue you will encounter Arturo, the old, kind cleric who wants nothing bad to happen to the little town of Beth’Lehem. But he soon realizes that he has been the very thing that allowed an evil to grow in his town, and someone must pay the price. In this world, do we confront our demons or do we allow them to confront us?
